Back in 1977 the first race was added to the Montrose Blueberry Festival.  It has been through various race directors and even left the hands of the festival committee for a while.  Mark Bauman of Bauman's Running & Walking Store coordinated the race for the years that it left the festival committee.  In 2004 Mandy made an inquiry of the festival committee regarding the race and as with anything, ask too many questions and you'll end up running the event.  Yep, that's what happened, the following year Mandy took over the road race.  At that time it was just a 5 mile road race in August.  Now it is an 8K and 5K road race in August plus a 5K road race in January.  Watch for future announcements as to what will be added next to the lineup.
