Family Fitness Time
Family Fitness Time is sort of new to the Montrose Blueberry Festival Road Races. The reason for sorta is that we are still having vendors & fitness demonstrations, which we have had in previous years. However, there are some new items that coming this year. For one is the new name, we had previously referred to it as the Fitness Expo & Demonstrations. With the new title comes some new activities. With the new structure I hope that families will come out and enjoy the new area.
Family Fitness Time is taking place on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Montrose Hill McCloy High School gymnasium.
Here's what we have in store for you this summer:
Exercise DVD's/ladders & hurdles/jump ropes - There will be a tv set up with various exercise dvd's running, so you can jump in at any time. The ladders & hurdles will be set up so that kinds can run back and forth over them. Jump ropes will be in an area so you can jump rope. These are just for fun activities. The cost is $5 per person for 4 hours.
3-legged race - There will be up to 12 teams of 2 running back and forth. There will be 7 rounds of races. Each round the winning team will receive a ribbon. These races will take place between 3:15 and 5. The cost is $5 per team of 2.
Potato Sack race - There will be up to 12 people racing back and forth. There will be 8 rounds of races. Each round the winning person will receive a ribbon. These races will take place between 5 and 7. The cost is $5 per person.
Tug of War - This is a 4 way tug of war. Each team will consist of between 5 and 10 people. There will be 4 rounds and the winner of each round will go on to the final round where the winning team will receive medals. So, we are looking for 16 teams. The cost is $60 per team or if you sign up your team before August 1, 2010 your cost is $50 per team. So, please get your registration forms in early. Here's the schedule for the tug of war:
3:30 - round 1
4:00 - round 2
4:30 - round 3
5:00 - round 4
5:30 - championship round
We will notify you as to which time slot your team is tugging. So, get gathering up your teams!!!
Some activities will be indoors and some outdoors, it all depends on the weather.
The only activity you must sign up for ahead of time is the Tug of War. The other races & activities you sign up for the day of the races & activities. Please make sure that you are at the races ahead of time so that you can sign in and the races will start on time.
